2006 - Year in review

2006 was the year of massive upheavals on the personal front. I have heard of women who change dramatically after the birth of a child- I just did not expect to become so much another one of them! The most obvious example of this is the Year in Review I had for 2005- there was hardly any mention of anything personal in that list- more about the general happenings in that year. 2006 YIR, on the otherhand, I am hard pressed to come up with anything other than how I have asserted myself at home, how I am forced to compromise on certain things for Sanjana, how I sometimes feel my love for her as a suffocating intensity, how I have never experienced a one thought always running in the back of my mind, like a parallel process.

Last night, after yetanother tension fraught day, I was again tempted to think of what could have been - I could be travelling to the US, could be switching jobs, if not for the little darling sleeping in her crib. And i realise, without surprise, it doesnt matter. I wouldnt exchange Sanjana for all the opportunities in the world. She is the best thing that has happened to me, and all that remains is for me to be the best mom she could have ever had.

1. Yet another Vietnam for the US?
2. My first niece - the extremely sweet and charming Ranjani (Priya, pls note the FIRST)
3. Very, Very volatile relationships. Some almost completely out
4. Lost some friends. Gained some.
5. The first time I havent gotten to meet Arjun & Abhi for an ENTIRE year :(

Resolutions for the new year:

1. Futzing to be not more than 1 hour a day
2. Read to Sanj for atleast 30 mins everyday. This means, of course, that I need to stock up on books for her :))
3. Finish Sanj's baby book- my pet project - Sanj's first year picture book. have to finish this in the next month. Hopefully, shd do it while priya is here, next week
